Kyrgyzgaz has paid the $2.5 million it owed to Kaztransgas for gas supplied in 2012, the company told Interfax.

"The threat of a gas shutoff to consumers has been averted," a Kyrgyzgaz representative said. "At present, the parties are negotiating the delivery to Kyrgyzstan of the remaining 90 MMcm, as per the agreement with Kaztransgas. The republic was due to receive 300 MMcm of gas, but at present delivery volume has amounted to 210 MMcm."
