CNPC's Tarim Oilfield outputs 101 bcm of natural gas to date

The Tarim Oilfield in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region has produced a total of 101 billion cubic metres (3.6 trillion cubic feet) of natural gas since beginning operations 12 years ago, according to an announcement on Wednesday by China National Petroleum Corp., the field's operator.

The Tarim Oilfield in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region has produced a total of 101 billion cubic metres (3.6 trillion cubic feet) of natural gas since beginning operations 12 years ago, according to an announcement on Wednesday by China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC), the field's operator.

The province, which is sometimes described as the jewel in China’s energy crown because of its ample oil and gas reserves, contains the Tarim Basin, a 906,500 km expanse straddling Kyrgyzstan in the northwest.
