Africa-focused independent Chariot Oil & Gas will take a 90% operating stake in a block offshore Mauritania, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

Africa-focused independent Chariot Oil & Gas will take a 90% operating stake in a block offshore Mauritania, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

Over the next three years Chariot will reprocess the existing 2D seismic datasets and then to carry out a 1,600 km 3D seismic survey on the block. The company may then choose to continue with exploratory drilling.

Mauritania’s national oil company, Société Mauritanienne de Hydrocarbures, will hold the remaining 10% stake of the production sharing contract. In the event of a commercial...
