Panjin City natural gas consumption up 145%

Panjin City in north-eastern China's Liaoning Province more than doubled its daily natural gas consumption in the past year, according to figures released on Tuesday by Panjin Gas Company (PGC).

Panjin City in north-eastern China's Liaoning Province more than doubled its daily natural gas consumption in the past year, according to figures released on Tuesday by Panjin Gas Company (PGC).

Panjin now consumes 50,000 cubic metres (1.8 million cubic feet) of natural gas daily, up 145% from roughly 20,400 cm a year earlier, the figures show.

Panjin is now home to 110,000 natural gas-consuming households and is expected to add up to another 8,000 this year, PGC said. The city's natural gas demand is served by the...
