Sempra expects FERC’s environmental OK by April

Sempra Energy expects to receive environmental approval for its Cameron LNG project in little more than a month, putting it on track to reach an FID this year and become the second confirmed United States export project, a spokesperson told Interfax on Friday.

Sempra Energy expects to receive environmental approval for its Cameron LNG project in little more than a month, putting it on track to reach an FID this year and become the second confirmed United States export project, a spokesperson told Interfax on Friday.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is due to approve the environmental impact statement for the Gulf Coast project by 30 April, according to its published schedule.

In addition to that clearance, Sempra needs to secure its project financing scheme and receive FERC’s approval for construction...
