Santos reaffirms GLNG progress despite supply doubts

Santos says GLNG remains on schedule for first gas in 2015 despite lingering skepticism over the CBM resource base in Queensland.

Santos has reaffirmed that its Gladstone LNG (GLNG) project remains within budget and will be completed on schedule, despite lingering doubts about the productivity of thousands of CBM wells in Queensland, Australia and a drop in output from the company’s Cooper Basin assets in 2013.

The GLNG project is over 72% complete and on track to produce its first LNG in 2015, after Santos drilled more than 230 CBM wells in southwest Queensland’s Bowen and Surat basins, the Adelaide-based company said in a Q4 operational report...
