Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has approved the export of 84 cargoes from the third train of the Tangguh LNG project when it starts up next year given lower-than-expected domestic demand.

The cargoes will be taken from state power producer PLN’s 2.85 mtpa of contracted offtake from the 3.8 mtpa train. PLN had planned to deliver its volumes to domestic terminals in Sumatra and Java.
