ExxonMobil’s plan to take an FID in 2020 on a multi-billion-dollar integrated gas-to-power project in Vietnam could make it more difficult for the country to realise its LNG import ambitions. The country is seeking to import LNG from the early 2020s, but project developers may struggle to find investment if new domestic sources of gas become available.
