Japan’s Shizuoka Gas has agreed to supply small volumes of LNG inside shipping containers to China’s Dalian Inteh Group in a deal that will gauge Chinese interest in small-scale imports of containerised LNG.

Shizuoka Gas said on Wednesday that it had signed a three-year sales-and-purchase agreement (SPA) to supply 1,600 tpa of LNG from its Sodeshi terminal in Japan’s southern Shizuoka prefecture to Dalian Inteh. Shipments will begin this year.
