Novatek plans to almost triple the capacity of its Cryogas-Vysotsk liquefaction plant on Russia's Baltic coast, suggesting the small-scale LNG sector in Northern Europe is poised for lift-off.

The joint venture company operating the plant – which is 51% owned by Novatek and 49% by Gazprom – is planning to add a second 1 mtpa train next year, Novatek Deputy Chairman Mark Gyetvay told Interfax on the sidelines of the European Gas Conference in Vienna on Tuesday.
