Falling temperatures have triggered an uptick in heating-related gas demand in Europe, prompting an increase in pipeline deliveries from North Africa to Italy and Spain. Total deliveries across all four pipelines rose by 6.7% last week from a week earlier, to 857.5 million cubic metres (MMcm) – the highest weekly total seen so far this winter. The sharpest increase was noted on the Trans-Mediterranean pipeline, where volumes rose by 10.6%, to 411.4 MMcm.
