Canadian-listed Africa Energy has been awarded a 4.9% stake in Block 11B/12B in the Outeniqua Basin, which lies approximately 175 km off the southern coast of South Africa.

The company will partner with Total (which has a 45% share), Qatar Petroleum (with 25%) and CNRI (with 20%) and will be participating on the Brulpadda-1AX exploration well, which is expected to be spudded imminently.
