Libya’s state petroleum company National Oil Corp. (NOC) has declared force majeure at the country’s El Sharara oilfield following its seizure by protesters, Reuters has reported.
The field, which produces 315,000 barrels per day, has reportedly been shut down by local tribal peoples, armed protesters and state guards. The various factions have been demanding salary payments and community funds since 8 December, and the state has so far been unable to remove them.
NOC co-owns the field with Repsol, Total, OMV and Equinor....
