Golar to start work on FLNG vessel for Tortue/Ahmeyim

Golar LNG has been notified by BP’s subsidiaries in Mauritius and Senegal that it can proceed with early work to provide an FLNG vessel for the first phase of the Tortue/Ahmeyim gas project in West Africa, Golar said on Monday.

Golar is looking to convert its 40-year-old Gimi LNG carrier into a 2.4 mtpa FLNG vessel at Keppel Offshore & Marine’s shipyard in Singapore, which converted Golar’s Hilli tanker into the Hilli Episeyo FLNG vessel now operating offshore Cameroon.
