Indian Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has announced that India will invest INR 70,000 crore ($9.9 billion) to develop the first phase of a project to deliver gas to the country’s northeastern provinces and for export to Bangladesh, according to The New Indian Express.

The initiative will involve laying pipelines to Bangladesh from Dhamra in the state of Odisha and Siliguri in the state of West Bengal.
