Hungary is working to increase the share of renewable energy in its total energy consumption to 20% by 2030, Hungarian Energy Minister Péter Kaderják told delegates at the Budapest Energy Summit on Tuesday.
The country will boost the solar and biogas sectors in particular. Hungary also aims to cut its greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2030 compared with 1990 levels, in line with EU obligations.
The two targets will be part of the country’s new energy strategy, Kaderják said.
