UK-based Aquaterra Energy has won a contract with Nigeria’s FIRST Exploration and Petroleum Development to design and install two offshore platforms in the Niger Delta Basin.

In conjunction with local partner Maerlin Nigeria, Aquaterra will install rigs at the Anyala and Madu fields in water depths of 35-55 metres.

The two fields, in which Nigerian National Petroleum Corp. holds 60% stakes, contain an estimated 185 million barrels of oil and 18 billion cubic metres of gas. They are expected to come...
