UK Business and Energy Minister Claire Perry has announced the country’s first carbon capture and storage (CCS) project will be operational by the mid-2020s.

Perry said the government will invest £20 million ($25.6 million) in supporting CCS technology and up to £315 million in decarbonising the oil and gas industry.
