France’s Air Liquide will invest $150 million in the construction of a liquid hydrogen production plant to serve the transport sector in the western United States. The plant will have a capacity of nearly 30 tons of hydrogen per day — enough to fuel 35,000 fuel-cell electric vehicles.

The French company has also signed a long-term agreement to supply hydrogen to retail distributor FirstElement Fuel.
