Fortescue Metals and CSIRO aim to develop Australian hydrogen industry

Iron ore mining giant Fortescue Metals Group will establish a five-year partnership worth A$20 million ($14.5 million) with Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) to support the development of a hydrogen industry, both parties said on Thursday.

CSIRO will work with Fortescue to identify, develop and commercialise technologies that will support an Australian hydrogen industry and future global uptake of the fuel.
