Malaysia plans to build its first LNG-fuelled ship, which will serve the country’s oil and gas sector, according to Hellenic Shipping News.

The vessel will be built by Synergy Marine in partnership with MTCMS Design and Shin Yang Shipping. The vessel is expected to cost $45 million and will be built in Miri in the Malaysian state of Sarawak.

It will be the first of its kind in Southeast Asia and is slated for completion in Q4 2020.
