Sound Energy has announced that it has encountered no gas at its TE-9 well, the first of three to be drilled by the company on its Matarka permit in Morocco’s Tendrara region.

The well, which was drilled to a depth of 2,925 metres, was plugged and abandoned without being tested. However, Sound believes the area holds a working petroleum system and is moving its drilling infrastructure to the TE-10 well, which is believed to hold around 74 billion cubic metres.
