Sinopec plans to boost its gas supplies for the coming winter heating season by 17.7% year on year, to 18.17 billion cubic metres, the company said on Monday.
The NOC will increase supplies to seven northern provinces and cities, including Beijing, by 29.1%.
Sinopec expects gas demand to increase sharply again this heating season, while extreme weather could exacerbate supply problems. The company has increased its spot LNG purchases and has secured supplies for the whole of the heating season.
