Australia’s gas production is set to plateau at 140 billion cubic metres per year between the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 financial years, according to statistics from the Office of the Chief Economist, part of the country’s Department of Industry, Innovation and Science. Gas production exceeded 120 bcm in the 2017-2018 financial year, largely as a result of year-on-year growth of 29% in Australia’s western market.
