Sarawak has enough gas to last the next 15-17 years, the Malay Mail reported Abdullah Saidol, the Malaysian state’s assistant minister for corporate affairs, as saying in the Sarawak legislative assembly on Friday.

Sarawak is the biggest gas producer in Malaysia, and its gas accounts for 52.7% of the country’s discovered reserves.

Abdullah said newly established state oil company Petros has been given a mandate to be the main regulator and active partner in Sarawak’s gas production-sharing contracts.
