Ukraine could cut tariffs for Russian gas crossing its territory by 70% if volumes remain at their current level after 2019, when its transit contract with Russia’s Gazprom expires, Olena Zerkal, Ukraine’s deputy minister for foreign affairs, has said.

“According to the calculations of our regulator, we can decrease tariffs by 70% if the same volumes of gas will be preserved in our transportation system,” Zerkal said at the European Autumn Gas Conference in Berlin on Thursday.
