Morocco to privatise thermal plant

The government of Morocco plans to privatise a number of state assets, including the Tahaddart gas-fired power plant near the city of Asilah.

The government of Morocco plans to privatise a number of state assets, including the Tahaddart gas-fired power plant near the city of Asilah, Energies Media has reported.

The 384 MW combined-cycle plant belongs to the Morocco’s Energie Electrique de Tahaddart (EET), which was added to a list of companies set to be privatised on 8 November.

EET’s shareholders include Spain’s Endesa Generación (with 32%), Germany’s Siemens Project Ventures (with 20%) and Moroccan state energy company ONEE (with 48%).
