Japan’s JXTG Nippon Oil & Energy has signed a memorandum of understanding with China’s state-owned Sinopec to cooperate in hydrogen projects, JXTG said on Friday.

The two companies will discuss opportunities to jointly develop hydrogen businesses in China and other countries.

JXTG is already partnered with Sinopec in China in various fields, such as lubricants, and currently operates 40 hydrogen filling stations that are focused in four major metropolitan areas of Japan.
