Egypt could begin importing gas from Israel as early as March if the 90-km EMG pipeline connecting the two countries is found to be in good condition, according to Bloomberg.

Supplies would begin at 2.8 million cubic metres per day (MMcm/d) in Q1 2019 and gradually rise to a maximum of 19.8 MMcm/d, according to Mohammed Shoeib, East Gas Co.’s chief executive.

East Gas Co. is a partner in the pipeline project.
