Finnish technology group Wärtsilä has been awarded the tender for a 38 MW gas-fired power plant in Bata, Equatorial Guinea’s largest city, according to a media release.
The project, which is being sponsored by the Ministry of Hydrocarbons, will encompass four Wärtsilä 34DF dual-fuel engines that will be supplied primarily by domestic gas resources. The project forms part of the country’s ambitions of becoming a regional gas hub.
