Morocco is preparing to issue tenders for a $4.5 billion LNG terminal at Jorf Lasfar on the country’s Atlantic coast, Energy Minister Aziz Rabbah has told Reuters.

The project is set to include a jetty, terminal infrastructure, a pipeline and associated gas-fired electricity plants, and will import up to 7 billion cubic metres of gas per year by 2025.

Rabbah added that up to 80 international companies are looking at the project.
