Mapna signs MOU to build power plant in Syria

Iran’s Mapna signed an MOU with Syrian Public Establishment of Electricity for Generation to build a 540 MW power plant at Latakia in Syria.

Iran’s Mapna signed a memorandum of understanding with Syrian Public Establishment of Electricity for Generation to build a 540 MW power plant at Latakia in Syria on Tuesday, according to Iranian news agency IRNA.

Based on the MOU, construction of the €411 million ($475 million) combined-cycle power plant will start in early 2019.

The first gas unit of the power plant is expected to be completed in 15 months and the second will be built in two years.
