CNOOC signs preliminary supply deal with Canada’s Woodfibre LNG

China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) has signed a heads of agreement for the potential purchase of LNG from Canada’s Woodfibre project, the Pacific Oil & Gas subsidiary developing the project announced in a note on Monday.

Under the agreement, CNOOC would buy 0.75 mtpa of LNG over 13 years starting from 2023. The Woodfibre LNG plant is being built at Squamish in the Canadian province of British Columbia. Its planned output capacity is 2.1 mtpa.
