Egypt takes delivery of its final LNG cargo

Egypt has stopped importing LNG, Petroleum Minister Tarek el-Molla has announced.

The last cargo arrived on Saturday, in line with a government timetable issued earlier in the year, China’s Xinhua news agency reported.

Egypt aims to become self-sufficient in gas and is set to save around $250 million per month from the move now output from the giant Zohr field has reached 56.6 million cubic metres per day.
