Shell has won a long-term contract to supply LNG to a $900 million LNG-to-power project being built by a Chinese company in Panama, Reuters reported on Thursday.

The 441 MW project in Colón, owned by a Panamanian subsidiary of privately owned Shanghai Gorgeous, is expected to start receiving approximately 400,000 tpa of LNG in 2020 under a 15-year deal.

Shanghai Gorgeous is also building an FSRU-based LNG terminal in Colón.
