China National Petroleum Corp.'s (CNPC’s) Changqing Oilfield subsidiary has restarted production at 212 gas wells that were previously shut because of poor profitability, CNPC said on Friday.

The resumption has increased the oilfield's output by 100.14 million cubic metres. The subsidiary aims to reopen a total of 300 wells this year, to maintain annual oil and gas output at 50 million tons of oil equivalent.
