Algeria will invest $280 million in a new gas pipeline to boost output to Europe, a Sonatrach executive has told Reuters.

The 197-km pipeline will connect two others that travel to Spain, Sonatrach Vice President Ahmed Mazighi said.

The pipeline will come online in 2020 and have a capacity of up to 4.5 billion cubic metres per year.
