Pakistan’s Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has decided not to go through with a proposed 46% increase in gas prices, according to Dawn.

Prime Minister Imran Khan approved the price increase last week, but it was struck down by the ECC because of its potential impact on poorer citizens.

A new plan is expected to be developed that will increase contributions from the rich while limiting the impact on the poor.
