Agreement signed for LNG-fired power plant in southern Bangladesh

Siemens and North-West Power Generating Co. have signed a joint development agreement for a 3.6 GW LNG-fired power plant in Bangladesh.

Siemens and Bangladesh’s North-West Power Generating Co. have signed a joint development agreement for a 3.6 GW LNG-fired power plant at Payra in the south of the country, according to Bangladeshi newspaper The Independent.

The deal will require the two companies to conduct a survey and feasibility studies and to draw up a power-purchase plan, in addition to appointing a contractor for the plant.
