Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan approved a 46% increase in gas prices and tasked the Energy Ministry’s Petroleum Division with putting together a plan to end gas theft at a meeting with officials on Tuesday, according to Dawn.

Gas theft is estimated to cost Pakistan a total of PKR 50 billion ($410 million) per year, and Khan is committed to increasing the government’s tax take.
