Mexico continues to receive around one-in-five LNG cargoes exported from the Sabine Pass plant in the United States, according to data from the US Department of Energy. The country imported 29 cargoes from the US in H1 2018.

However, other countries in Latin America are presenting only modest demand for US LNG exports, despite the region accounting for nearly 50% of US exports in 2016. This is principally because of limp demand from Argentina and Brazil.
