EC approves inclusion of CHP plant in Polish power certificate scheme

The European Commission has approved the inclusion of a new CHP plant in a Polish scheme to support high-efficiency cogeneration.

The European Commission has approved the inclusion of a new 600 MW gas-fired combined-heat-and-power (CHP) plant in Płock In Poland, as part of a Polish scheme to support high-efficiency cogeneration, it said on Monday.

Under the scheme, CHP plants are granted certificates for each megawatt-hour of electricity they generate in CHP mode, the commission noted.
