Chinese tariffs will have no impact on Cheniere’s long-term contracts – CEO

China’s proposed 25% tariffs on LNG imports from the US will not affect Cheniere’s existing contracts, the company's CEO has said.

China’s proposed 25% tariffs on LNG imports from the United States are not expected to affect Cheniere’s existing LNG contracts, the company’s chief executive, Jack Fusco, said on Thursday during a Q2 2018 earnings call.

“We don’t foresee an economic impact to Cheniere as it relates to our existing long-term contracts with PetroChina,” said Fusco.
