The number of rigs targeting gas in the Middle East rose by 14% in July compared with June, to 98, as drilling increased in Egypt, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The number of rigs targeting gas operating in Saudi Arabia fell from 60 in May to 48 in June but was back up to 57 in July. Meanwhile, the number of rigs drilling for gas in Kuwait fell from 16 to 15.
