Ireland needs to build an LNG terminal among other measures to guarantee its future energy security, the Irish Academy of Engineering said in a report published last week.

The country will need new sources of gas from the early 2020s, when reserves in the Corrib and Kinsale fields – which currently meet two-thirds of Ireland’s gas demand – will start to decline.
