Shandong province on China’s east coast aims to provide 13.3 billion cubic metres of gas to consumers this year, rising to 14.6 bcm next year and 15.8 bcm in 2020, according to a three-year action plan for improving air quality released by the provincial government on Friday.

Gas will supply 8% of Shandong’s energy mix by 2020, while more than 70% of rural heating during winter will come from clean energy sources by the same year.
