India’s gas output is expected to reach 72 billion cubic metres in four years, the oil ministry has told a parliamentary panel, according to The Economic Times.
India produced around 35 bcm in the 2017-2018 financial year, with Oil & Natural Gas Corp. (ONGC) providing the largest share.
However, by 2022 private firms and joint ventures are expected to account for a larger share of production than the state companies, at around 40 bcm.
