India’s government may promote LNG as a transport fuel, The Times of India reported Oil and Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as saying on Monday.

“[LNG] is a very new, cost-effective and clean proposal” for fuelling transportation, Pradhan said during a session of the Indian parliament’s lower house.

“Be it the mining sector or railway sector, the government is very much considering this proposal,” said Pradhan.
