Venice Energy, set up by former BHP executives in 2017, is looking to start importing LNG to South Australia in 2020, company managing director Kym Winter-Dewhirst told Reuters in an interview.

Venice Energy intends to submit an application to the South Australian government within the next month to berth an FSRU in Port Adelaide, according to Winter-Dewhirst.

If regulatory approval can be obtained by March 2019, construction could start in June and first gas could reach the market by mid-2020.
