The United States Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has denied reports it issued letters to LNG project developers warning that permit approvals would be delayed by 12-18 months.

“FERC has issued no such letter,” Kevin McIntyre, the commission’s chairman, said in an interview on the FERC Open Access podcast on Tuesday.

McIntyre said FERC was working to reform the permitting process by “eliminating duplicative efforts and instituting a streamlined procedure that will significantly reduce our LNG permitting timelines”.
